K&N cleaning ,, how often??

K&N cleaning ,, how often??

how often should i clean my K&N for optimal performance,, i do regualar city street and highway driving,, no dirt roads,, but i just make a homemade cold air induction so that may cause more dirt to build up,,
so how many miles between cleanings???

i clean mine about every 25,000 miles and in between just tap the excess off on the ground gently.they are very durable filter that rarely need service.

You can go as long as the manufactor recomends since you don't have any dusty places.The man. rec. 50,000.The dirt helps up to a point.Mine ran well but my milage started to suffer,so I cleaned it and I notice ahughe difference.

hey ron, replace it every time you replace your high performance floor mats!

Ron,

Since you get a lot of humidity, hot, and cold weather, I'd clean and re-treat it at least once a year. The oil that treats teh filter can get pretty nasty and gummy from the water and freezing air.
