What should I do first to get rid of a bad miss?

remember my post about the zz430 with no power running open headers, well now I have a hooker exhaust on it and I can hear the engine better.
It pulls pretty good to about 3700 rpms then it misses way bad. My timing is 12 Btdc. Carb is a holley 750 vacumm secondary with 71 jets in the front and 73 in the rear. What should I do first The peak torque for this motor is about 4000 rpms and this is when it starts to miss way bad

without knowing what all you've done or anything i'd say change the timing a little, change the springs in the advance ,verify you have a good fuel supply and preasure. are you sure the lifters are adjusted right? no bent push rods or broke valve springs?
