Thermostat question...
My car is very good at burning the hair off of my legs in the summer, I have a new radiator with new hoses, and a 180 degree thermostat, I was wondering if I could take out the thermostat totally and put it back in the winter. Does this trick only work on 70's muscle cars? Any help would be appreciated. Thankx!

TA,
Operating a TPI with no thermostat will result in dismal performance at best, unless you do some significant reporgramming of the ECM PROM. The 180°F 'stat should work well for you. You are getting heated air into the passenger compartment because either you don't have a good seal at the temperature control air door in the HVAC ductwork, the cable is misadjusted, or you have a hot water control valve that is not operating. You really should repair this problem and keep the thermostat. The ECM relies heavily on correct coolant temperature to control fuel and spark curves for best operation.
