Anyone achieved this?

Has anyone been able to keep the engine temp under say 220 when driving in rush hour traffic in 100 degree weather with the A/C running full blast? I have tired but cant do it. The car goes from 180 to 220 in a matter of minutes.

first off the factory thermostat is a 195*
you could change this to a lower temp depending on your aplication for non strip use i would say go with a 180*

now i asume it is electric fans. if so, check this article out on them. one of th emembers of this board wrote how they work stock and how you could mod them to run cooler.

https://www.thirdgen.org/newdesign/tech/cool.shtml

but a range of 190-220 or so is normal from the factory. what ever posesed them to make it run that hot, i dont know

Mine runs in the 180* area when it is pretty hot out, and going down the road, then when stopped, it gets up to around 200*. This is with the A/C running.

The temperature readings are based on the stock temp. gauge which we all know isn't very accurate, but it does give you an idea of where you're running.

Oh, I almost forgot, that's with a 170* stat, and the dual electric fans with the hypertech 190* fan switch.

The problem I have is even with a 180 stat perma cool fans one 14" and one 10" and a 3 row radiator and a fan switch that kicks on at about 215 it still gradually gets up to 230-240 in traffic with the A/C running. The only thing I haven't done is a high flow water pump with a high flow 180 stat. Should this solve my problem? But is too much flow not good?

230-240 is cooking your engine, I would suggest finding where your temp. problem is soon.
