Yep. Mine does it too. I read that Chevy designed these cars to run hot so as to have cleaner emmissions. The fan doesn't kick on until more than 225 (can't remember the exact temp), will run for a few minutes and cool down things, then shut off.
I don't like the idea of my engine getting so hot so I'm gonna do something about it this summer. If you look around you can find aftermarket switches that turn on the fan sooner (for example, summit racing) for about $40. I think I'm just gonna rig up a manual switch and run the fan all the time during hot summer months.
