I have this strange noise in my engine compartment (beside the whining from the blower... )
It sounds like I have a ghost in there. I can hear this whine best between 1,5-2k rounds. could it be the water pump?

btw. I checked all fluid levels. they are fine.

If you suspect the water pump, you can eliminate that and all other acessories by removing the belt(s) for a test run.

I'm not sure what a ghost sounds like; so I don't think I can help mcuh.

However, if you take a piece of heater hose, and stick one end in your ear and probe around with the other end while somebody sits in teh car and pushes the gas and gets the engine to the RPM where it makes the noise, you might be able to find it.
