D-cup pistons?

Just wondering where I can get some d-cup pistons. Never found any. I think I'll use my Vortec heads with the new Vortec base TPI intake, but I'd like a 9:1 compression ratio. These heads are 64cc's. I want d-cup to keep a tight quench area, without the full dish. So these are my 2 choices..a 355 bottom end with d-cup forged pistons and a blower (future) or a flat-top 383 with a small shot of happy gas, perhaps. Intake is a SR, LT-4 hot cam. Anyway, where can I find these d-cup pistons (under a gajillion dollars)? My bottom end selection depends on it.

Anybody know what a 383 with the LT-4 cam sounds like???

KB makes 2 dish pistons for 383s with 5.7 rods.
The KB135 has a 18cc dish and the Kb197 has a 12cc. I think the 135 uses 5/64ths rings and the 197 uses 1/16s

KB also makes a 350 piston with a 12cc dish - Kb193 They do have a D type dish, but they arn't forged.

Speedpro makes a forged 350 with a 21cc dish
F2441 (38bucks each) You might have to get ross or JE to make you a set. I would not cut corners on the bottom end if you are going to try to SC it.

Now's an appropriate time to ask a question. I know there's 3 common types of pistons, cast, hyperutectic and forged. KB and speedpro make hyperutectics to the best of my knowledge. Maybe it's bull, but I heard someone somewhere say something about forged hyperutectics. Are the forged pistons KB and speedpro are referring to comparable to TRW forged pistons, or is this BS, sales gimmick? In other words, is a forged hyperutectic real, does it even exist?

So I'll assume that speedpro forged pistons are comparable to TRW. I know there was a relationship between speedpro and FM, but not TRW.

there are no forged Hyperutetics. SP makes both HP and forgings.

Hypers are brittle, so if you are planning boost or happy gas, I would stick to forged, they tolerate the abuse better.

They are all the same Company. Federal Mogul is the parent company.

I wouldn't worry about the hyperutectics...I'll only use them if I was building a N/A motor. Thanks for all you help, guys.
