Piston replacement

Ok, so nobody laugh at me please, this is still my first car I've ever done anything to. But how hard is it to replace the pistons while keeping the engine in the car? Is it possible at all? I'm just curious, I was thinking about doing it somewhere down the line. Thanks!

Its possible. I wouldnt even think about doing it though, too much effort to get that far, may as well just take the engine out.

well, considering you have to lift the engine up just to get the oil pan out, you may as well just put in on a stand and make life easy on yourself.

I thought I was going to do the same thing.
I even pulled the pistons out while the engine is in the car.I was just doing to slip in some KB pistons. Then I thought,Im this far, might as well pull it,bore it .030
over and put in a 400 crank.
Didnt think I was going to do it but, hello

You did all that with the block still in the car? Tell me more!!!!
BTW, Nitro Don, i saw your time slip with your 305.. any advice on how to get my daily driver 305 up to that level performance? I have no emissions requirements, and don't want to add any nitrous, superchargers, etc.. just want some good power.
