Thottle Sticks/ pedal very hard

I have a problem with the throttle just coming off of idle. The gas petal feels like a brick and takes a lot of pressure to first push it down & then it's ok. I tested it off the car and everything seems fine. Whe I start the car it's hard as a rock. I replced the throttle cable, and checked the flaps for binding & they look OK. It's a BBK 58mm throttle body. It has bearing on the shaft, could they be worn & the vacumm of the motor be pulling the shaft back? Any suggestions help?

My Firebird has a similiar problem. If I let off the gas completely, it SOMETIMES will bind and I have to stomp on the pedal to get it to get unstuck. At least it gets stuck at closed throttle, I'd hate for it to get stuck at any other position. I checked the linkages at the throttle body (LB8 engine, by the way) and they seem okay, but I'm no expert on those things. WD-40 seemed to help a bit, it sticks less often now.

I lubed it up pretty good, so I don't think it's that. It works fine when the car is off. I've seen some posts about may be drilling a small hole in the blades?

my L03 was like that... the vac of the engine made it hard to press, then once they opened a lil, there was no more resistance...

you could always stick a monster cam in there.

I wonder, maybe the vacuum is messing up the throttle blades... I suppose that I should see about getting a new (or a decent used) throttle body or something, then. I can't remember if they stick when the car is off.
