Why the hell is my mileage so low? For the love of all that is holy help!
Okay, here's the stats: 1991 Pontiac Firebird, V6, stock, 41,000 original miles. I've been getting 15.5 miles to the gallon regardless of where I'm driving, and I mostly drive on the parkway. This doesn't seem right at all, especially when I know a guy with a V8 '92 Camaro that gets 16. It's not even like my car's particularly quick to pick up or anything. Can anyone give me some tips? What kinda gas, oil, etc should I be using? What on earth could I do to improve such horrible mileage?
It could probably use a tunup!
The injectors could be blown the plugs could be fould. could be fuel filter air filter bad plug wires. stuff like that will decrese fuel mileage. I recomend that you use synthetic oil "any brand" that help with fuel economy.
