ok guys,I put some freon and some dye in my system today and found that it's leaking from the sensor mounted on the A/C compressor. does anybody know the name/function of this sensor??

also, the sensor appears to be held on with a C-clip....i thought that was rather odd, why would GM do that?? (btw, free freon kicks A$$)

it's the low pressure switch, or compessor shut off switch. it keeps the clutch from engaging if there is little or no freon in the system, otherwise it will burn out. hehe and i thought i was lucky to get cheap freon..

thanks, Z. btw, i noticed my compressor was kinda noisy. (i've never seen it run before). is this common?
