1996 vortec head 350?

Can anybody tell me that my TPI system in my IROC will bolt on to a 1996 cast iron vortec head engine. I believe it does but I want to be sure.

No.

The ports on the intake may not even completely cover the ports on the heads. And even if it does, the top and bottom of the ports will mismatch by a good ¼". Thereby completely destroying the Vortec heads' advantage, which is the straight smooth path through the intake port to the intake valve. Such a motor might even produce less power than a stock L98.

People will tell you that all you have to do is drill some other bolt holes; and that's true, as far as it goes: yes, that will allow bolts to be installed. Whether it's actually a good idea, is a whole other matter.

"Vortec" = GM-speak for "we moved the intake ports somewhere else besides where they used to be"

The only way to bolt a TPI onto Vortec heads reliably, and to improve its power output at the same time, is the SDPC Vortec TPI intake base. There are no other options.

Hey man, i do believe you would be better off with this in the tech/general engine forum. As far as I have been told, having never owned anything vortec, the only thing that bolts to vortec heads are vortec manifolds. But you can elongate the center holes, I believe. But dont hold me to that.

So if I bought the SDPC intake will my standard exhaust manifolds work? I like the write up on the SDPC intake!
