Smoke at stoplights

Smoke at stoplights
Can anyone tell me the source of the smoke that is coming out of my engine when I sit for a while at say a stoplight? It is not thick smoke but it is not normal for a car with 72,000 miles. I just installed an open air element and now this is happening. Did I do something wrong? Anyideas would be great.

What color is it? White can mean you're burning some coolant, black usually means oil. After re-reading this, do you mean out of your exhaust or the engine itself? A little more info, please.

Out of the engine area or out of the exhaust?
If out of the tailpipes......not good.
