Valve Lift With Different Rockers

I've been reading the archives but haven't run across this question. If I change the rockers from let's say 1.5 to 1.6 what effect does that have on the valve lift specs? I'm looking at upgrading these in my L69 but wanted to know if this would cause any problems. Since the car is my daily driver I'm not too interested in changing my cam (although I have looked at the CC XE256H) since I'm still running with the ECM and I've got emissions to pass this year.
All suggestions are appreciated. Thanks,

Welcome aboard dude! You could slap on a set of 1.6 rockers which would change your lift from .410/.423 to .437/.451 - your stock valve springs are good to .47 . You might have to elongate the slots in your cylinder heads where the push rods go through and you also might need tall valve covers. Personally, I would wait until I passed emissions and then buy that comp cam which will probably cost about the same but make more power.

Thanks, Teddy for your reply. How's the weather on the west coast? It's finally warming up here.
Back to my question, this is the first year for emissions testing and I don't want to spend any money unless I fail the test. I've just had the carb partially rebuilt (needs the throttle shaft bushings replaced and the idle mixture solenoid). I'm the original owner of the car and love driving it. Yes, it has the puff of blue smoke when you start the engine but I've never opened the engine up. So, I'll be looking at rebuilding the top end but still reuse the Quad and intake. I'm only looking for mild mods as it's my daily driver during the summer.

The weather's warming up here too! In fact, the Camaro will be insured for the summer in a week or two - I'm stoked!!!

Anyway, I don't think you'll have a problem passing emissions. Since you have the L69 you already have some of the nice extras which LG4 guys (like me) consider mods, but you could get a carb spacer and an aluminum driveshaft (maybe not that cheap but certainly an emissions free mod ). The 1.6 rockers would help too, it's just that a set of roller rockers costs as much as a cam kit - maybe you can find a set of 1.6 stamped steel roller tips for a reasonable price.

When you are ready to get your heads done I would suggest a do-it-yourself porting job before they go to the machine shop. I just did this to my heads and it really wasn't that hard - just took a bit of time. Of course I can't tell you how much of a difference it made since I haven't driven the car yet, but there's a few guys on this site who have ported their 305 heads and had good results.
