gas smelling ,smokey, stuttery start
okay, Im hoping someone could help me out on this, I'd be very grateful if you did.
Here's the deal, I own a 91 red (of course) firebird (305 TBI) and for the last couple of months ever since I started using my car again after it was parked for about a month (I know, my mistake) well the thing is that now about 2 out of 5 times when I turn my car on, it turns on fine for about a second and a half then it'll start studdering for about 4 to 5 seconds, at which time the needle of the oil pressure is moving up and down alot, and then it just spits out a little cloud of smoke and gives off a strong smell of gasoline. I just recently changed the oil and filter but its not that so hopefully u guys out there with more knowledge could give some tips cause im still learining as im going.
Thank u

That happened to me before. Sometimes it would start fine and other times it would bog so bad that I couldn't go faster than 5mph. Thinking something was harshly wrong I took it to a mechanic who changed the fuel filter and put a gas conditioner in the tank (water remover). Never had the problem again.
If it sat for a month without much fuel in the tank then condensation could have accumulated. Just a thought.
