can't read engine codes
i've tried connecting A and B of the ALDL port, and turned to on, but the SES light does not blink.. and the fan does not turn on.
any hints?
any hints?
Get out your trusty meter. Check the reesistance between the 'A' socket and a good ground. There should be 0 ohms, or very close to it.
Turn on the ignition, then check the 'B' terminal for voltage to ground. You should read 5.0VDC or very close to it.
If you can read voltage at 'B' but no ground at 'A', you can connect the 'B' terminal to any good ground to start the diagnostic request. If you have no voltage at 'B', you'll need to work backward to the ECM and check the connections there.

Does the light come on when you switch the ignition on? If not, your bulb may have gone.
Just a thought, you probably already accounted for that.

I would think you have the ECM. Your torque converter needs lock up amongst other things. It's just that you don't have an ECM controlled carburetor.
