LT1 swap Radiator Problem PLEASE HELP MEEEEE !!!!

I know my lt1 is reverse cooled, would it be possible to put a regular 3rd gen rad in my 89 RS, install my LT1, and plug the 2 hoses upside down ??? Would it work ???

Mat,

I don't really see a problem with installing the hoses in their "usual" locations. The pump will just flow coolant in the reverse direction through the radiator.

No matter how you connect them to the radiator, you will need to install some sort of expansion tank with the two recirculation hoses at a location higher than the top of the radiator. You'll also need a radiator cap with no pressure relief valve and refill check valve to permit free flow of coolant from the expansion tank to the radiator.

It would be easier to just purchase a 4th Gen radiator. The only thing that you may have a bit of trouble with is the angle of the filler neck since it is angled about 35* or 40*. Use stock 4th gen rad hoses and since the 4th gen radiator is slightly wider than 3rdgen's just cut the radiator shroud support in half, (V8 electric fan shroud only) so it's wide enough to grasp the aluminum mounts on the radiator. Get the radiator at www.RCSR.com Look under RANCHO CHEVY.

Hope it works for you.
