I have recently been in contact with Ryan Macewen about getting another group purchase going on the white face guage overlays!! He says he may be available to do another group purchase as soon as two weeks!! The last GP for these went for a month!! I told him I would post this topic and get interest going and start collecting names and then I'll let him now how it's goin' and when he's available for another mass order, I'll send him the names and we'll go from there!!

If you're interested in participating in this GP please email me at pjstar19@homtail.com or pjstar@mo-net.com or here in ths thread and include ALL of the following information!

1. Full name
2. Year, Make, and Model of your car
3. The top speed on your speedo (ex. 85, 110, 140, etc.)
4. Where your tach redlines (5000, 5500, etc.)
5. And the color you want......white is available now and silver will be available for most 3rd gens within the month is what Ryan said
6. What color bulbs - If you want them (they are still full price...no discount on the bulbs)

I want the white faced gauges as well. But I dont think they make them for my '83 TA. I want them with the white xenon bulbs. Do they make them for my '83 TA yet?

 

Sorry, doesn't look like it!! Looks like '86 is the earliest year for the Firebird overlays and '85 is the earliest year for the Camaro overlays!! You never know tho...he could be workin' on them right now! Email him and find out!

HI, I went to the page and it has 85 as the earliest year for camaros. I was wondering if there is that much of a difference between 84 and 85 that I couldn't purchase them anyways. also, my 84 has the dinky little 85 speedo on it. could I simply change that out witha a higher one with just the overlays.

JOBRYAN26: I've never installed these yet (that's why I'm doin' the GP so I can get mine) BUT I have had to take my dash apart to replace my heater core before and it's not very hard at all! ALL of the overlay kits come with detailed instructions so as long as you can read instructions then it's all good!

RYANRETHERFORD: That is a question I can't answer!! I'm a firebird man so I don't know a whole lot about the camaro dashes, speedos, etc.!! I would say that there is some sort of difference or on the website it would say 1984-1985 and not just 1985....see what I'm saying!! You might want to go to www.macewen.net and email Ryan MacEwen and ask him about that!! If you want a higher MPH speedo you'll have to get the actual speedo guage out of another car that has a higher speedo and hook that up!

ez as hell, just takes soem time and if take the guages off the cluster (like 2 more bolts each guage) and do it without fighting the stering columb, its even easyer. i go tthem the last gp and was impressed with the sonstruction of them, and how ez it was to do

yes you can install new gauges. I did it in my 85Z28. I went from the 85mph to the 115mph. Its relly easy too. I would look on ebay to find what you are looking for.

one ? tho, i have an 86 cpe with the 85 mpg guage, but want a 145 iroc cluster, my ? is are their any differnces between the 145 speedos or not?

Daniel! You would have to switch the cluster for the overlay to line up properly!! It tells you all about that at www.macewen.net ......please let me know what you find out and if you decided to go with the GP, I need all the info....1-5!!

 

I just got an email from Ryan Macewen!! He says that the silver 3rd gen overlays "should" be available by the end of next week! He also says that he doesn't have a donor car to do a picture of the silver overlays installed but he has a guage cluster and he can do a picture of the guage cluster with the silver overlays!! I asked him to let me know when the picture was available....so when I know, you'll know!

We're about half way there now! I'd say in probably a week and a half to two weeks we'll have enough people! By that time Ryan should be able to do another GP!!
