Well I have had this problem with my 91 Z28 305 TPI. The car either won't start or will start run for awhile then falls flat. So I just changed the Coil, Wires, Rotor, Cap, Control Module. It started right up then died again. I'll get it started again then take the RPMs up to 3000 then It runs great but anything lower than 2300 it starts to seem like it misses at 1700 it really seems like its missing and at idle it seems like the computer is trying to keep it running by making the car engine speed surge and it just dies. So my question is do you think off the top of you heads it might have a fuel injector gone bad or is there other problems. I let the car sit all winter and last fall never had the problem except once in awhile it wouldn't hold an idle you would stop at stop sign or something it would die but you just had to restart it again then it was ok. Please help.

That sounds almost exactly like what i just went through, replaced all my fuel injectors, although i only have a 3.1L. Before it wouldn't run at any rpm would go for about 15 minutes then flood out and die. Now the SES light goes off at like 3000 but when i come to a stop the rpms drop and it dies i get a code 43&45, oxygen sensor rich and low voltage to est. I would try some fuel injector cleaner if you can get it to run for a little while, also can you smell the gas? mine runs really rich and i can smell it. Ok so thats not too much help but it sounds the same as what happened to me. But originally after 2 times dieing it was dead totally flooded out, #1 injector was really dumping fuel.

ps
Do you get any error codes?

i'd check fuel preasure and volumn before the injector, if that does all check out ok them i'd start checking resistance on the injectors. cruzin preformance will clean and flow match your injectors for around 80 dollars.
