3.1 motor will not start, not getting fuel?

Im helping a friend with his 91 camaro 3.1 automatic. It will not start and run unless we spray carb cleaner in the throttle body. When it runs outm of carb cleaner it dies. The fuelpressure test gague reads 40 PSI and the tank has gas. Its getting spark ok but will not run, its like its not getting fuel. The fuses in the fues box look ok. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Got it. This seemed very strange. We unhooked the ECM to look at it and then plugged it back in and everything worked again.

As a preventive measure, you might want to check the coil resistances of the injectors to see if any are failing.

There is something wrong with your VATS or your key. The computer will not fire the injectors unless it has an input from the VATS.
