Ok, from what I hear, 8.5mm heli-coil wires are the way to go... you're referring to spark plug wires, right?

I have an 85 Camaro 2.8L MPFI engine... do I have a distributor or not?

If I do, an upgrade is just putting on a new cap and rotor and setting the timing. If it's EFI, what is the equivilent to that?

Is there anything I'm missing in here? Anything else I should know?

i've never saw a 2.8, or worked on one, but if you're considering doing this you ought to know what a distributor looks like ,so take a look. 8.8s are the spiral wires putting on a new cap and rotoe isn't so much an upgrade as normal maintance, the larger wires would be an upgrade. i think you're wasteing money going with the 8.8 wires for your engine, but it's your car and your money. efi stands for eltronic fuel injection, i believe the 2.8 used sequencial port injection, port injection at any rate. the irocs and z28s used tpi, which is also port injection, but the induction system is differant and they are batch fire insted of sequencial.

Well, the whole thing is, I don't have the car here with me. I'm at my fathers place, car being at my mothers... I asked all those questions in one post just to save myself and everyone else the agony of typing/reading several posts.

I do know what a distributor looks like, but like I said, I can't check cause I don't have the car here... and I just bought and got the car in my driveway Thursday, so I don't know it's details just yet (been at my dads since Friday).

(edit)EFI... I thought it was Electronic Fuel Ignition... I could be wrong, so maybe thats why the post reads a little strange to some of you.

Anyway, just wanted to clear that up.

So wires is a waste of money huh... ok then, thats why I asked... to -not- waste money.
