paint block...quick question..

paint block...quick question..

do i need to use primer when painting the block...do it have to be a special type of primer to withstad the heat...i am using duplicolor engine(600*F) spray paint.

It helps.

I usually use marine engine primer, that you can get at the boat store. High zinc chromate concentration. It doesn't come off, and you won't have a problem with rust peeking through.

i got a can of galvanize stuff....its 95% zinc, but i am afriad to use it as primer because it doesn't mention anything about high heat?
