305 HO timing
Does anyone have any thoughts on timing this engine? the specs are as follows..........L69 short block w/113 alum heads valve springs to.525 lift, comp xe256H-12,comp lifters, pushrods and roller tip rockers.Weiand 8000 and Holley 6210-3 650 double pump spreadbore jetted 62 F - 83 R 5.5 power valve, slp TRI Y headers and MSD 6AL, blaster SS coil and 85551 distributor.Present timing is 10* initial advance and 25 * centrifugal advance in @4800 RPM ahead of 5 Speed man tranny..........thats the facts and it runs great but more insight might be required...Also engine vacuum is 15 to 16 in...........

Try 12-15° initial and 36-38° "total", in a curve from 1200 to 2800 RPM; 12° vacuum on top of that.
Also try backing the jets down a couple of sizes, and raise the PV to a 10.5.

RB thanx for the input. I moved initial to about 15* ran out of pointer. changed springs to 1 light silver and 1 light blue to bring cent time in at about 3200 RPM for about 40 * total advance. No vacuum available on this distributor. No 10.5 power valves in OKC,got 9.5 but not installed yet..........thanx again
