How do I test lifters?

I am just wondering how to test my hydralic lifters without removing the intake manifold. Is there even a way? Thanks for the reply.

test them for what? if you're looking for wear you'd need to remove them. you can pull the valve covers and make sure they're all pumping oil to the rockers.

Because I keep bending pushrods. I checked my springs on the cylinders that were a problem, and they are .060 with my feeler gauge. So before I assume it's valve to piston clearance I wanted to test my lifters to make sure they are not stuck fully compressed. Or just shot.

Roadhead if you don't have anything interesting to say, don't post that kind of junk.

I'd suspect spring coil bind or retainer to guide smash before blaming the lifters for bending pushrods... Although it's possible I never have seen this happen.
