Code 15 & weird ticking noise

Well out of the blue today I got the check engine light. I thought I got rid of that once I extended my O2 sensor Code 15 says Coolant sensor circuit. I noticed a loud ticking coming from the engine bay and it was one of the sensors vibrating. It does it when I stick the paper clip in the A&B ports and while I was driving I heard it a couple times. Why would it do that?

Well I disconected the battery to clear the codes and then took the car for a spin and the light didnt go back on. Im just wondering why that sensor was vibrating.
