What is this....
What is this gold canister looking thing that screws into the back of the block, right behind the intake manifold? I'm swapping an L98 for my LB9. It actually came off the LB9, but the L98 doesn't even seem to have it. The threads are plugged, so I'm wondering if it's totally necessary. Also, what screws into that little notch in the oil pan? I can't remember what sensor or whatever screwed in there.

If it looks like a bell-type thing, with 1, 2, or 3 wires coming off of it, tees into the rear china wall, and would sit right behind the distributor, it is the oil pressure sender/switch (depending on application).
