Stock '84 l69 tach. Where does it hookup?

Does the tach on an '84 L69 connect to the distributor? If so where.

yes it does. it hooks up on the cap, on the drivers side of it, by only one wire. there shold also be a wire right beside it.

Is it the brown one? Is there a wire that connects to a screw under the roter too? I thought there was one on my '85 but can't find it on the '84...
