Its on my lumina. i got one side off and now its hanging and for the life of god i cant get if off. I even put visegrips on the fuel line part and an impact on the other side and nothing is even budging. everything is getting rounded off too as we speak and the filter is now bent. Any suggs? If i have to can i drive with a bent filter?

 

did you have the impact set to tighten? that would untighten the other side.

hmm... I don't know how good of an idea this is, but..


Cut it off. Then find another piece of metal tubing that will screw into your fuel filter (shouldn't be too hard to find, maybe home depot type places) and connect the cut end and the new end with rubber tubing and clamp the bejesus out of it.

You cant clamp a EFI line. Anyway. I reatached the F'ed up smashed and dented filter and the car runs fine, but I went down to the dealer and got a new hose that goes form tank to fuel filter. I have to lower the tank but its easy unlike our cars. All it is is 2 straps and 4 bolts. I'll save this job for an all day saturday.

 

if the fuel filter has female fittings use a nut cracker to split them with

the filter has a female end what is a nut cracker? The fuel filter is identical to the 3rdgens.
