What is this bolt for?
There is a bolt visible from under the car that sticks out of the engine block. (Kinda looks like the bolts sticking outta Frankenstein's neck!) It's just smack in the middle of the block, next to nothing. It doesn't hold anything to the block.
Anyway, is this for draining coolant from the engine block? I dont want to find out the hard way!
While I'm posting, what's the best (and cleanest) way to flush/change all the coolant from the system? A general procedure explanation would be best. Thanks!

Yes, there are bolts on both sides that go into the water jacket. They are low and kind of central on the block. What you described sounds like those.
As for the best way (I doubt it's best, but the way I do it) to flush the system I like to remove the T-stat from the system and start the car with lower drain open and a water hose in the radiator, let it run until the water is clear. Then drain as much as possible and refill with a 60/40 mix of antifreeze and water. The water left in the system from the flush will make the mix around 50/50. If you want you can use a rad, flush to loosen up the deposits in the system beforehand, since I keep my cooling systems up fairly well I don't always do that step.
