smog stuff removal

Yes, this question is posted on this board by somebody else already, but I don't know what engine or induction he has. I am getting frustrated with all of the smog stuff that gets in the way of doing other stuff. What stuff can I get rid of off of an 1986 LG4 without sending the computer into fits?

Thanks,
Mark

I have taken off all the Air Pump and piping. However you will have to come up with a way to plug the AIR tubes. I still get a (check engine light) but it runs FINE

I posted a question like this a couple of months ago. What I got from ost people was the following:

-Its easier, but not necessary to replace the exhaust manifolds with headers, this way you get rid of the AIR tubes.

-To get the whole thing to work really good, a non-EGR intake manifold, and a new non-emissions carb should be used. (The stock crap will work, but its made to have the emissions control.)

-The other thing is the torque convertor, I never got a real good answer to what happens to it. Some said it would work fine, others said it would lock when the vacuum pump is removed. So you might wanna get some info on that first.
