Lots of money, need KILL????

The old saying , IF they want it, they will get it. I want to limit the someone from being able to steal my baby (car). What have you all seen as the best way to limit someone from stealing your auto. I am being serious, I have quite a bit of money tied up in this car and I want to drive it, but worry every time it is out in a parking lot becasue Pontiac did a poor job of developing the windows on my 89 Firebird that my 4 year old son could almost steal my car if he wanted. I need a resolution to slow down criminals from taking my car.

Shouldn't your 89 have VATs? I would park my car anywhere with the top down and have confidence it's gonna be there when i get back (maybe not it's contents, lol) due to VATs. The way i see it, the only way my car is going somewhere is if i'm beng targeted and the thief has a brain. And if thats the case, more power to him, i have insurance.

If you want to add something on top of VATs to keep you safe, i would go with an extra relay for the FP. Put it inline with the stock wiring somehwere in a hard to get to place. Then switch ot however you like, a reed switch is the most stealth way. It's a switch that closes when youput a magnet nearit, thus you can hide it behind body panels/whereever, and then have a magnet that you put over it to drive. If i didn't hate the idea of tearing into my car to find a convenient yet hard to find spot in the harness to add a relay i would do this.

I have a MSD 6AL box on my car.
With a kill switch on the orange wire,
this kills the power to the coil, the
car will crank but not start.
