Can I use a regular GM rotor button on an Accell distributor?
Call me an idiot but I broke the rotor button on my Accell distributor by having the cap sitting half way on top of the distributor and turning the motor over with a ratchet on the crank bolt. I was turning it over to access all 3 torque converter bolts when I hear a big POP. It was the rotor button that had spun around and cought something on the cap. It got bound up and broke.
The reason I had it off is because when you take the trans crossmember off the motor pivots backward. I didn't want my Super Coil and cap to slam into the firewall and break. So much for that.
My question is if I just get a New GM cap and button will it bolt on the same as the Accell? I think that it does but not positive. Thanks.
