I know that this will help bring up oil pressure, but is it to thick to use in our motors? It gets to about the 90*F-100*F here in NJ during the summer. The engine has about 30,000 miles on it.

IMHO it is too thick. I prefer the 0W-30 or 5W-30 Mobil 1 myself in my 400.

I run mobil 1 15w-50 all year in my Firebird and Maxima. The Mobile 1 15w-50 is about the same viscosity as regular 5w-30 it seems.

Joseph,

Well...running 15W-50 in synthetic is better than say running a conventional 15W-50 in your car.

The synthetics have a more uniform molecular structure, and tend to get into clearances a bit better than their conventional counterparts.

For your engine and geographic location, most of us would recommend between 5W-30 and 10W-30 synthetic, or even possibly the 0W-30 mentioned above. I use 10W-30 in both my cars year round in Illinois,

I would shy away from the 15W-50 in the winter with your engine. But as I said earlier, It being synthetic kind of changes what people would recommend. all in all, you should be fine since it has a better "pour rate" than conventionals at the lower temperatures you will see in NJ during the winter months. If it were me, the next oil change would be something slightly thinner.

I run delo 15W-40 year around and haven't had any problems. The climate here runs from 10* in the winter to 105* in the summer
