Vic Jr vs Performer, which one?
Heres my situation, I have an 82 t-top Camaro, limited slip 3.08 diff. I believe, 700 R4, and the LG4. Anyways, Ive taken off the AC and smog stuff, and am putting in a Summit cam with a .442/.465 Lift. I do have plans for a 2500 stall and some posi gears here in a few months. The car has stock exhaust for now, Headers/true dual exhaust is coming next month hopefully. Stock heads and stock bore in motor. anyways my question is Should I use my VIc. Jr High rise intake or my dual plane Performer intake? I have heard a few people tell me to suprisingly go with the Performer cause it will help the LG4 better in low end torque. However, one goes on the 82 LG4 while the other goes on the 92 LO3. So, whats your recommendations? Any help is appreciated thanks.

Performer will blow the Victor Jr, or any SP intake away on the street. But a performer RPM will be way better.

Given that you are looking at either an LG4 or LO3...keep the Victor Jr on the shelf for either one! That intake is part of a package meant for serious street engines...not stock 305s...
I would keep the stock intake on one and the Performer on the other, unless you are going to buy intake #3...

Stick with the performer if it's already on the car. A victor jr is way too much intake for the engine you're dealing with.

OK, neitheri ntake is on the car. With the Performer on there and the cam swap and AC and smog delete, what do you think the car will run in the 1/8th. Its hit 10.37 and usually runs 10.5's as it was...But now it'll have a full tune up, with MSD wires and cap, Accel plugs, new oil, and then the AC and smog all gone, the Performer intake and a 625 carb? its in the 1/8th mile BTW. Also, I asked someone that rarely races and he said I should expect to go to mid 9's and might even get to hit low 9's...I want to know an honest opinion, Hell id be happy to hit the 9's truthfully. When I last ran the car, it had very old wires that were a little burnt, old plugs, old AutoZone cap, Vac advance not hooked up, All Acc. hooked up and installed and it ran decent but it would miss and I had to have the Dist. turned all the way to the right (advanced I believe) to make it run decent enough to hit some times down the track. If I set it at base timing, it owuld barely run and nearly die when u hit the gas mre than just easing into it.
Also, If I say ran 9.81 with the Performer, will the Vic Jr yield lower times? thanks.

With a stock torque convertor and 3.08 gears, no...the Victor JR will not be a good idea.
Check out the Edelbrock website and note the RPM range of the intake...then note that it is for a strong 350...not a weak 305 with a stock drivetrain.
You would need good heads, better gears, and a 9.5" torque convertor before you should even CONSIDER putting the Victor Jr on, not to mention a full exhaust, including headers!

I firmly agree with that statement...the 1st thirdgen that I owned was an 84 LG4 Firebird with a T-5 and 3.23 non-posi.
I changed the full exhaust to 1 5/8" headers and 2.5" cat back..it made a BIG difference in the feel of the car as the stock setup was SO restrictive.
