Runs better in open loop

I know this has been gone over before but I searched the archives and most reference is to FI cars. I'm wondering if the same is true for carbed cars. I know when I first start out I feel like I have about 20-30 more HP than after I warm it up. I know the intake is cold and will make some difference but does it still advance the timing and run richer in open loop on carbed cars? if so could I adjust the timing and carb to do the same thing in closed loop? If so will it advance it too much in open loop then? or will the computer compensate?

Thanks

I think the timing on carbed cars is controlled by vacuum, not by the computer.. So I don't think there is an openloop/closedloop for your car.
