1992 Rs 3.1 V6

I recently rescued a 92 RS from oblivion. I finally have it running fairly well but I can't find the timing specs. No tag in the compartment. Before I dig into her any deeper I'd like to get the basics right. Any help is appreciated.

Can't find mine either- I think it was four degrees initial or something like that. My 202,000 mile motor likes 10 degrees, so that's what it gets. Still doesn't burn any oil!

Factory spec timing is 10 deg BTDC. Disconnect the EST/BYPASS connector over by the right strut tower under the hood. This is a single inline connector with a tan w/black strip wire. Set the timing, then turn off the engine and reconnect the EST/BYPASS connector.

The number one plug is passenger side front most plug. Can also use the #4 plug which is easier to get to. This one is on driver side middle plug. Either plug will enable you to time the engine to 10 deg BTDC.

Check out the V6 board too, most of the 6'ers hang out there. And welcome aboard.

RBob.
