I just had my 305 rebuilt and when they put it back together they put a Performer intake on it and a slightly hotter cam. It runs much stronger now! Just make sure you advance your timing 4-6 degrees with the computer interface to the distributor unplugged.

What you feel is all the camshaft. The Performer intake is nothing more than a factory replacement, not in any way meant to be a "performance" piece.
