Plastiguage is a joke. If you are at all serious about tolerances, use the proper tools. Snap gauges, mikes, and dial bore gauges are all things I have used in the past.
And what clearances on the crank and rods are you looking for? Thrust? Bearing (rod and mains) tolerances? Rod side clearances?

Don't waste your time with plastiguage. Its nowhere near accurate enough for use on anything.

i was going to use them to measure my main and rod bearing as i dont have calipers or any of that stuff. i got a pack of them in a rebuild kit and it doesnt say what was a acceptable tolorance. so if i get a set if calipers for the crank. what #s am i looking for???whats bad whats ok and whats good?
