Intake gaskets

I got a new intake for my car but I assume I need some sort of gasket set to install it to prevent vacuum leaks. Is this something I could get at like Pep Boys or should I order from Summit? Are all SBC intake gaskets the same or do I need one specifically for this intake? Its an edlebrock torker II, single plane low rise intake.

Yes you can get gaskets for it at any parts store, or Summit or Jeg's, or your local speed shop.

I hope you didn't have to pay for that intake.....

I've heard a lot of opinions about it, old technology and I'll lose my low end power. TBI doesn't rely on vacuum pulses so the power will be fine and I got it cheap, its better than the stock LO3 intake.

Well, best of luck to you.... I sure wouldn't waste any money putting that thing on a car, even if I did get it for free. Even apart from the "vacuum pulses" thing, you'll still have an intake that allows fuel to puddle out of suspension at low RPMs, due to low velocity, like any other wet-flow induction system; and an engine that can't run at high enough RPMs to get into the intake's RPM band where it's efficient, because of the heads, cam, exhaust, and gears. So what's good about the engine you have (what little that is), will be eliminated; and there will be no improvement to replace it.

And of course, your wallet will be lighter; there will be a bunch of stuff you'll have to buy. And some of it you'll have to buy all over again to undo the mistake afterwards.

But, like I said, good luck!! I hope it works out for you, but experience tells me otherwise.

What else do you think I'm going to have to spend money on? Gears and exhaust aren't going to be stock either, I've got a 3.42 rear and 3" catback waiting on headers. I've discussed the intake over on the TBI board and no one there seems to think I will have a problem. By the way I'm not trying to argue, I actually want as many opinions as I can get.

An adapter at the bare minimum. Various fittings and bolts and little pieces like that. Fluids, a thermostat maybe, water outlet, gaskets, hoses & lines. It adds up.
