My engine makes a ticking noise i cant remember if its always been there or not... a mechanic told me that it was just my injectors and if i had a normal hood i wouldnt be able to hear the tick... is it suppost to tick?

if its suppost to is there a way to make them quieter???

Yes, the injectors are supposed to tick.

Some are louder than others. My LT1 injectors are louder than TPI ones.

Ticking is nomal. Some are louder than others. I have been told that some fuel injector cleaners actually make them louder. I have used amsoil pi annually and havent had additional noise. I do not know if the cleaner story is fact but thought I would mention it.
