starter problem (again)

i am on my third starter from advanced. this one was work fine for like 1-2 months when it started to get a little hard to start when the engine is hot. It almost sounds like something is grinding. It is only when the engine is hot. it has been gettin worse. People say about a remote starter but when i said that to a guy from advanced he said that it wouldn't matter b/c it is gettin 12 volts no matter what you do. he said about a gear reduction for the starter which he said costed him 150. he also said about wraping the starter with a heat cover thing( i can't remember what it is) What should i do(if you say remote starter explain y that would work when all you can get is 12 volts from a battery) thanks in advance

This a 350 block from the 70s?

Are you using REAL starter bolts? Not just some bolts from somewhere, that appear to fit?

is your friend, look up "heat soaked starter". If you dont want to wrap your starter, or whack the starter with a hammer any time you try a hot start, or get a remote start then just buy an LT1 starter, they're MUCH smaller and less prone to heat soak.

BTW, the condition that your starter is suffering from is called heat soak If you do the then you will surely realize this is your exact problem

I don't think this has much to do with the heat soak phenomenon. I second the starter bolts as they ARE different than regular hardware.

"Heat soak" is a myth. It's really "wallet soak", to separate people who don't understand the real problem, from their money.

It's not his problem. Sounds like the symptoms he reports don't even agree with the myth.
