misfire under hard acceleration

car runs mean outta the hole now with my slicks i jsut got! atleast for the first gear and some of second, then it jsut goes, pop pop pop pop pop at the end of second gear or low third gear. i think that my carburetor is leaning out, and combustion chamber is getting too hot, causing a misfire? im running ac delco plugs that i jsut replaced a month ago. i have an electric stock 350 tpi pump regulated down to 4 psi, and it seems to pump alot. one guy told me that im running outta fuel, and need a 1/2 fuel line? another guy told me i need a colder range spark plug. another guy told me its jsut too hot of air/fuel, and if i run a cold air intake instead of my open element it will help cool it down. this comes and goes, did it at the beggining of the year then went away. but i have not been mkaing the power out of this motor i should be!
anyone got any ideas or heard of this?

what octane gas are you using?
have you cleaned out the jets at all?
4PSI is a little low for a carb, i believe that it is supposed to be around 12 - 15PSI if memory, if you're lucky you'll just have the fuel pump that is mounted to the block (which only takes like an hour to take out)

12-15 is too high... a carb should be 4-8lbs

yes, i jsut put a new one in less then 1 k ago, so jsut a month or two ago, and i have an electric pump, so i got a containter and put the fuel line in there, then turned on the fuel for 15 seconds, and there was ALOT of fuel! we are talking like 2 small maragirine containers full, (like prolly 10 float bowls full)atleast i thought it was alot. and yes once in a while i take my carb off and blow out every hole, jets, air bleeds, anything, and thats about it, but it deosnt affect it much, and i normally run 87 octane ksue i only have 8:1 compression, but the odd time i put in 94 and i dont notice a difference in power, so i jsut never bother, and i had my fuel pressure set to 6 psi, and adjsuted to ti 4 on my regulator because i think it was abit too much pressure. didnt affect anything, not power nothing
iany ideas? could it be anyhting with my timing? i do have quicker advance springs in. but i dont think they are too quick
