i just read the thread you were talking about dr. my car is in the shop as we speak, and the guy says he has run every test he can think of and can find nothing wrong. I was told a while back that my catty needed to be replaced, i wonder if that could be the problem?

well that could be your problem, a clogged caddy will cause that, one way to test it is try bypassing it with a straight pipe, its it works then theres your problem

Assuming EFI: place 12v+ at the "g" terminal on the ALDL. That is on the bottom row, the terminal on the far left. Give it 12v then try running the car. See how long it stays running.

Could be your fuel pump primes the system through the ECM but once you turn the ley, there is no power source and the engine dies once the primed pressure dies off.

How did you do the Vats bypass? What method?

I ran a ign. hot wire to the "g" terminal, but yep, same little set of terminals as the trouble codes (thats the ALDL).

Perhaps a resistor burnt out? Or have you eliminated that possibility?

What he did was run a "hot wire" to pin "G" of the ALDL so that the fuel pump would run continuosly as long as the key was in the "RUN" position.
