help my car wont stay running.
one day my 91 firebird is running great, the next day it wont run for more than 2 seconds. its been to the shop and they tell me that there stumped. every thing is working fine but the car just wont run. i bypassed the vats over a year ago and im wondering if that could be the problem, any suggestions?

Take a look at the forum ive had going for awhile now, (starts then stalls, fuel injectors) ive been having same problem, turned out to be my EGR valve, but theres alot of stuff in that post i beleive would help you out, all i gotta do now i my timing and im good to go, i also have a 91 firebird (v6), and it happened all of a sudden, lemme know if you get it fixed
i just read the thread you were talking about dr. my car is in the shop as we speak, and the guy says he has run every test he can think of and can find nothing wrong. I was told a while back that my catty needed to be replaced, i wonder if that could be the problem?

well that could be your problem, a clogged caddy will cause that, one way to test it is try bypassing it with a straight pipe, its it works then theres your problem

Assuming EFI: place 12v+ at the "g" terminal on the ALDL. That is on the bottom row, the terminal on the far left. Give it 12v then try running the car. See how long it stays running.
Could be your fuel pump primes the system through the ECM but once you turn the ley, there is no power source and the engine dies once the primed pressure dies off.
How did you do the Vats bypass? What method?

I ran a ign. hot wire to the "g" terminal, but yep, same little set of terminals as the trouble codes (thats the ALDL).
Perhaps a resistor burnt out? Or have you eliminated that possibility?
