at least i think it is...at high rpm at WOT car seems to misfire and lose power, and when i'm just cruising at about 2800 rpm when i let off the gas it backfires. I'm thinking it's timing i just don't know if i need to retard or advance.

 

Is it backfiring into the intake or out the exhaust?

 

it's backfiring out the exhaust...could the fact that i'm running open headers until i can afford a new exhasut be part of it, cause it's not misfiring at high rpm anymore.

 

Is it really backfiring, or just a popping sound? If its just popping sounds, then thats pretty normal for open headers AFAIK.

 

well, now that i think about it, i guess it is a series of loud pops. i really need to put up a new exhaust system.
