Starting Problems
I have been having starting problems for about a year. Some times it will fire other times i will turn the key and i here a click but thats it. And after turning the key several times it then will fireI have put in numerous starters, and changed the starter swith. Ive checked voltage at the starter im getting 12 volts at both post but once it a while one post isnt getting anything. Its a 91 camaro and i do have a key with the security chip. I dont know if that could be it. Any Help would be great. Thanks
Slow down when you get in your car to start it. Place the key in the ignition ALL the way. Turn the ignition to RUN without immediately cranking. Listen for the fuel pump to run its two-second prime cycle, and watch the SECURITY or ANTI THEFT indicator light on the dash while you wait. What happens with the light?
When you crank the engine, does the temperature gauge sweep to full-scale? Do all the indicator lamps on the dash light up in the bulb test mode? Does it help to move the tilt position of the steering column to the lowest notch? Have you tried starting in NEUTRAL rather than PARK?

I'm having the same problem now and I can answer all of your questions.
Fuel pump runs.
Security light goes out.
Temp gauge sweeps full scale.
Bulb test is functional.
Haven't tried adjusting the steering colum.
I don't have park.
(and neither does Derek_91

Take your battery to an autoparts place and have them test it. Most should do it for free.
My battery had a little over 13 volts and about 830 cca's so it tested good yet in the car, the battery gauge shows way less than 12v and I only get one click.
