new motor ?'s
i recently purchased a 400ci sbc and am going to rebuild it totally to put in my 85 trans am..
id like to ask everyone out there what they think i should do to it?--
im looking to obtain a minimum of 450hp, and around 500ft/lbs... and the goal would be to do it for 8 grand or less.
the two options i was considering were:
1.) Forged rods and crank, low C.R. pistons, with a centrifigul supercharger and decent boost(at least 8-9 pounds), approx. 4-5 grand...
OR...
a forged rotating stroker assembly(434ci I believe) approx. $1800. with an aftermarket multi-port fuel injection system like the holley 1000cfm MPI commander 950 system approx. $1450.
any advice would be greatly appreciated!,
(this is just one small part of a huge resto/makeover on the T/A, hopefully i will ditch the 700R4 and 3.42s for a T-56 and 4.10s, to go with the new 400..)

i vote for number two if it were me but hey thats me...LOL..
atleast it sounds like you have a decent budget to get it done with i hate it when some people pop on here and say they want to make 700 hp and have 1500 dollars to work with ...LMAO.....
sounds like you have a *** idea and have done some searching already to what you want ...

i would LOVE to be able to do both options... the supercharger AND the MPI injection system and forged stroker crank, but i think thatd be pushin the budget a lil too far..
