L03 Smoking Bad!
Hey guys, I've got an '88 RS with the L03 TBI and I've got major issues with it. It's running like crap and smokin from the MOTOR at all times, worse the more throttle you give it. It's coming out of the valve in the picture attached, the tube comes out of the valve cover and I have no idea what it is or why it's smoking. It also is eating oil hardcore, ticking, and i think i have some rod knock now. Please help and tell me what is wrong and what i can do!! Thanx in advance, if you need more info let me know!!

Thats the fresh air inlet for the PCV system. Lots of smoke out of there means that there is alot of blowby, probably from worn rings. How does the exaust look?
Seeing some smoke may not be a bad sign if the PCV is inoperative. Check the PCV valve and make sure its not plugged up and that the vacuum port there isnt plugged solid with crud. After that, replace the PCV filter in the aircleaner and hook the air inlet back up. If you dont have the stock aircleaner then put a breather in the valve cover.
As for the poor drivability, what other symptoms does it have? Des it do it cold? Hot? Also, does the service engine soon light ever come on? Any codes?
