i have an 86 iroc and am putting an 85 trans from a TA in,is there any difference like in the computer controls or anything to worry about?,i also am wondering what difference there is when a trans has a shift kit,many thanks in advance.

 

the trans should bolt right up with no prpblems. a shift kit will make the shifts quicker or firmer.

Don't get a strip shift kit for the street. I will break your neck in everyday driving. Go with a Trans go street shift kit, works great for me.

 

thanks for the info guys,the trans swap was just done and it really is sweet with a shift kit in it,it is firmer,smoother,and goes through the gears very nicely,but i have my check engine light on and the codes are 33 and 36,any suggestions?

 

Check or replace the MAF burnoff relay and power relay.
