145 MPH Speedo Repair?

The shaft that holds the speedometer needle broke off today on my 145 mph speedo. The shaft I am referring to has a a round hollow bottom skirt that attaches to the magnet portion which connects to the speedo cable and runs directly through the center of the speedo and the face plate where it connects to the speedo needle. I was wondering if I can buy this part or would the one out of 115 mph speedo work as well? On that note, what parts can be exchanged between the 145 mph speedo, the 85 mph speedo and the 115 mph speedo?

why don't you take out the guage cluster and take it to a speedometer shop? I know of several speedo shops where I live so there has to be one near you somewhere. If it more than $100 then start looking at the classifieds or on ebay.com.

If you then get a new one then feel free to try and repair your old one and if you break it sell it on ebay as advertised. If you fix it sell it on ebay and recover your costs.

I don't think there are too many speedo experts on the boards.
