Need help on A/C ASAP

Hey, my dad paid me to fix his A/C(compressor went bad so I decided to switch the thing over the R134) on his 85 cadillac. I replaced the accumulator, compressor and am going to put R134 into it.

I also bought a new orfice tube to put in, but the only problem is that when I went to pull the old one out, it ripped in half, and I coudl not get it out.

Then I figured I could just leave that half in the pipe and put a new one in. In order to fit that one in there I pushed the old(half a tube) one in farther. I do not have enough room to put this tube in because of a bend in the line.

What are some solutions to this problem? I was thinking maybe you dont need the tube, also I thought that I could just cut the top of the new one off because it seems like it would still be effective. What can I do?

You need to get that old one out. You need to have good one(not modified).

You better get the old one out just to make sure that It wont slip or deterorate and damage spme other part. You could try compressed air "blowgun" or just use a stout wire with a little bend as a hook and get it out that way.
